This painting was a conscious effort to paint a self-portrait from the Womb State. The embryo and fetus have become so politicized that it’s a breath of fresh air to remember who we were once and acknowledge that this memory resides in each of us still. It’s a sad commentary that the very process which created human life in all it’s beauty has come down to a “for or against” battle. I refuse to be part of this devolution into animal nature. Judging others and expressing opinions about how others should think, feel or do is a useless waste of energy. In Continuum movement we do a lot of work with entering states of consciousness from this embryonic place, moving our fluid bodies in resonance with our cells and integrating all levels of body "innerplanetary" awareness. This is one of my favorite paintings and it hangs in my movement room.
