The Jaw Clinic
Feeling a sense of ease in our jaw, neck and lower back, completely opens and shifts our perception of receiving, whether it be nourishment in the form of food or spiritual, emotional and energetic nourishment. For those of us with TMJ issues, the temporomandibular joint, receiving is often painful and requires a lifelong process of learning ways to manage stress. We have bodywork treatments and feel ease for a while, but a few days later our pattern re-emerges and we are tight, clinching or grinding again. In Continuum Movement we call this re-coil because the tissue is going back into a homeostatic response.
In this 4-session clinic you will learn ways of resourcing Continuum Movement (working with breath and sound) to dissolve old patterns in the jaw thus opening the occipital bone, sphenoid and sacrum. Living with a soft jaw requires daily tissue preparation to prevent re-coil, over an extended period of time. Depending on the severity of the problem, as little as 15-20 minutes will be beneficial. This can be done upon awakening before getting out of bed.
If you are ready to shift the scene in your jaw and learn ways of self-care to dissolve these old injuries, patterns and stories and you are willing to work between classes on your own for a minimum of 15 minutes a day, this clinic may provide you with a permanent change in your jaw tissue as well as in the quality and way you meet the world.
